Isle of Arran tasting by Gordon Coxhill
Colour: Dark caramel
Nose: Big sweet vanilla notes, orange liqueur and rich dry biscuits
Palate: Instant mouth-filling malt and wheaty digestive biscuit, followed by hints of kiwi fruit and tart, green apple
Finish: Further rich maltiness, ending with dark berry.
Gordon’s verdict: A most welcome addition to the bank of whisky experiences. The fruit keeps the whisky light, while the grains provide good depth. A very rounded, satisfying malt.
