For collectors and whisky enthusiasts alike, Vintage Bottlers has commissioned famous artist Jim Moir to create exclusive, individual and truly vibrant paintings for all four of the Maiden’s Blend's limited edition labels. Each label features a stunning depiction of a native Scottish bird, each intricately painted to reflect Scotland’s rich natural heritage.
These exceptional whiskies were hand-picked for their harmonious balance of flavours and characteristics and expertly blended at birth. This rare blended spirit was laid to rest in a 1st fill Sherry Butt for 25 years, where nature took over and the stars truly aligned.
To match this fantastic whisky, there are 25 limited edition, signed prints of this amazing painting by world-famous artist Jim Moir available to collect (including certificates of authenticity). These are available as part of our exclusive Maiden’s Blend Art Print collection.
Colour: Golden syrup.
Nose: Nuts and spice abound on the surface, but deeper inhalation reveals a surprisingly pleasant oily vanilla.
Palate: The world-famous Speyside component once again comes to the fore, with slightly smoky malt-laden grain. This is followed by a minimal hint of treacle-toffee sweetness.
Finish: A fairly brief finish of nutty toffee floating in a little peaty smoke.
Verdict: Another highly pleasing version of the Maiden’s Blend. The least complex of the four alternatives, this still manages to include and combine both the Speyside and Orkney elements successfully. The mild spices offer warmth, while grain and smoke provide a solid flavour base.
